| What
We Are. . .
The Team Earth environmental program works through local
schools, in partnership with local corporate sponsors, to
involve youth in environmental issues on three levels:
1. Care for the environment and beautification of the community
through monthly service projects.
2. Education and training about waste production, management
and recycling as a preferred means of disposal through business
mentoring.
3. Leadership development of young people through the principles
of teamwork and individual responsibility.
What We Do. . .
Team Earth Clubs meet monthly in schools to plan environmentally
focused initiatives in their individual communities. A representative
from a local Team Earth Club corporate sponsor may also attend
to serve as a mentor, providing insight and networking resources
for the student members. All local Team Earth Clubs come together
for a state-wide gathering to take part in an Earth Day Celebration
on April 22nd. Held annually at a centrally located park or
nature preserve, our Earth Day Celebrations serve as an opportunity
for these environmentally conscious students to share in fellowship
and learn from one another about what each Club has accomplished
over the previous year.
